SOUND FOR FITNESS
“HELP! MY FITNESS STUDIO NEEDS A GREAT SOUND SYSTEM!”
”WE BOUGHT A COOL SOUND SYSTEM AND IT STILL DOESN’T SOUND RIGHT!”
”I NEED TO PUMP UP THE ENERGY OF MY CLASSES!”

A sound system in a fitness studio needs to be designed for that studio.  Great speakers and a cool microphone alone won't make your classroom sound great.  The sound quality of the room itself (known as ‘the acoustics’ of the room), and a correct placement of the speakers, are as important as the gear you buy.  And giving your teachers easy-to-operate controls for the sound is also important so they can focus on their class.

Having someone in your team that understands these issues and knows how to integrate sound knowledge with the needs of your fitness studio is crucial.

Because the music plays loud during a class to keep up the excitement and high energy, its important to carefully tune and focus every speaker in the gym to ensure that every bicycle rider gets the same pleasant, ear-safe, yet fun experience, while clearly hearing the teacher’s directions.

Yoga rooms are often also used for Barre, Bootcamp and other cardio workouts, so its important to plan for a strong enough sound system for these more high energy classes. (photo: Space-China Shanghai)
